The 6 best places on the internet to buy pre-loved designer pieces.
If you want to look expensive but you're not...you know...filthy stinking rich, I've found out exactly where to shop pre-loved designer and vintage pieces for affordable prices.
Do you ever look at someone decked out in head-to-toe designer clothing and wonder, “how do they even afford that?”.
In my case, I stalk their LinkedIn to see what they do for a living, because if they’re wearing Chanel, then they must definitely have a fat bank balance.
Or, do they?
In this week’s episode of Nothing To Wear - the podcast that solves fashion problems and levels up your wardrobe - host Leigh Campbell sat in the guest seat and answered Mia Freedman’s questions about her wardrobe and exactly how she manages to find luxury items for a lot less.

Leigh might always look expensive, but she scours consignment stores and Facebook Marketplace for designer pieces - not only because it’s a better deal, but it’s also the more sustainable choice.
“I search a lot of designer brands like Camilla and Marc, Manning Cartell, and even some Zara stuff,” she said.
“The more you use it, the more the algorithm knows what you like.”
Well, I know what I’m doing after work.

The only time I use Facebook is to answer my overseas uncle who messages me “hello” or sends me an accidental thumbs up every week.
But there are also plenty more incredible places where you can shop pre-loved designer and vintage pieces online. Here are some of my favourites:
Where to shop for second-hand designer.
Hock Your Frock.
Hock Your Frock was founded in 2010 by fashion veteran, Nikke Veale, and has since gone on to become one of Australia’s most trusted consignment stores. They have an authenticity guarantee and they’ll offer you great prices.
Trading in Style.
When Jenna and Bianca founded Trading in Style back in 2018, they wanted to showcase their love of fashion, styling and most importantly, sustainability. Their site is easy to navigate, and they offer a range of items from handbags to shoes.
What We Wore Boutique.
What We Wore Boutique is not only a great place to look for bargains, but it’s also a good site to turn to if you want to sell some of your own designer pieces. They have everything from Chanel to Bec & Bridge.
PLC - Pre-Loved Closet.
If you prefer shopping via Instagram then check out PLC - there’s a reason they have over 30,000 followers. It’s easy and efficient and they have several luxury options to choose from.
The Closet of Luxe.
The Closet of Luxe is another reseller on Instagram, who clearly showcases what they’re selling on their grid. Meaning, you can trust that what you see is what you’re going to get.
Fashion Forward.
Fashion Forward is a beautiful initiative, where 100 per cent of the proceeds go to women in crisis. Not sure about you, but buying expensive items when you know the money is going towards someone in need makes the process so much better.
Bougie & Budget.
In this week’s episode of Nothing To Wear, Leigh also shared some of the bougie and budget brands she’s obsessed with at the moment:
Bougie.
LMND.
Palm Noosa.
Shona Joy.
Budget.
Zara.
Showpo.
Uniqlo.
